Jim, if SSB is the one that made the call I would not worry too much as they are in the top 5 worst in the business of picking stocks(per WSJ). I saved their HOT BUYS from a little over a year ago. You should see em today. I have their lastest ANNUAL release just to watch it again. You should see them also. :-))

I can provide the list (they even pulled a MER and made up a basket/fund based on them and pawned em off on their clients) from last year the DATE they released it. I think they picked the VERY top with the exception of AMGN. They have done a stellar job this year also.

The lastest (other than this new list) one of their upgrades I say was UNH (after it made a 52 week high) of 90ish. I shorted it that day and rode it for about 8 bucks. :-)) Why did they not upgrade it when it was in the 50's?

There was a lengthy article in the WSJ a few weeks ago about these games the brokerages play. When they have a big client with a big sell in house they upgrade them. Fact!!! Not conjecture...pure fact. It is played out every day but people actually seem to be catching on as I notice they have not been as successful recently as they were a few years ago.
