Thanks Kerry. I'll go read it now.

OT: Now why would I care what Shaq thinks about investing. Pulling down $50m a year doesn't require one to make fantastic investing decisions! ad

Kerry,

A very discouraging article. The two points that stand out in the article are: 1) Schwab purchasing Value Line would have been an outstanding strategic move, and 2) "CEO Buttner says she's considering some changes, but doesn't express much urgency".

Can you imagine if Schwab purchased Value Line: 1) the number of new customers reviewing VL data, 2) technological changes on a regular basis for VL product offerings, and 3) the cost would come down due to economies of scale.

Eventually a competitor will develop a similar product at a lower price, along with improved marketing, and truly take market share away from VL. I would bet Schwab might be the one to do it.

Thanks for the link. I had thrown it to the side when I saw Shaq on the cover. For some sad reason, I don't relate to individuals making $50 million a year that only have to work 6 months of the year. :)
