Pawa, I am afraid the accountability will never come to pass. People tend not to remember and document the analysts recommendations vs what REALLY happens. I keep up with it because it is part of my overall strategy. Recently the SEC proposed to forbid selective disclosure by companies. You should read the reply from the brokerages where they say the PEOPLE are not smart enough to UNDERSTAND the disclosures and need the analysts to PROPERLY interpret the information and then explain it to us. A friend of mine and I were just discussing this and here is his response when I asked if he knew the status of that rule: The proposal seems to have been put on the back burner by the SEC as of the 5 board members 2 were actually against the new rule that is supposed to forbid this selective disclosure. If the WS crooks can influencetwo SEC officials, they can influence three or four.... All information on shorting, specialists and member activities are between two and four weeks old. it's impossible to make use of them in a timely manner. Which of course is exactly as they like it...no-one can tell me it's not possible to get hold of this information in time...maybe 20 years ago it wasn't but today? They just want to keep every unfair advantage they can... They always want the crowd to be late to the party. Now here is an interesting post on semis by someone who does not hype anything and tells it the way he sees it and is generally pretty well right on in his analysis.
