USB port drives

These will be great tools. Now if only the PC manufacturers would be so kind as to put the USB ports on the front of the boxes, not the back. MAC PC's have already got the idea and a jump start in this arena.

Calculator, you said...

Is it not (un)reasonable to expect the brunt of storage needs for PDA's/cameras/ etc. in the future will occur on the network, with the on-board solid-state memory remaining fully embedded...acting as a (rather large) cache? At least there would be less likely the chance of someone fumbling their whole address/telephone book down a sidewalk crack.

The end-user will influence OEM designs. This may lead to a growing adoption of embedded mass storage, a continued acceptance of flash card standards or a combination of both. Recall that "mass storage" is the key and ultra-high density flash is the solution. If Eli is hedging his bets (by the way, there has been no product announcements to suggest this is the case) it is because he sees these markets will both benefit the FlashVision NAND microbrewery.

SanDisk...ultra-high density flash in powerful little cards.
