Monty, Re: The chart is the "facts".

A very poignant statement indeed... If I do understand it correctly.

On the other board some underlying facts affecting the gap filling in respect to AMD are discussed: at least an appealing theory with some probably to be true. Message 14170897

Do you agree or disagree with that notion? If you agree I must have misunderstood your point (and will try again).

Regards,
Manfred

The chart is the "facts". The charts are the "Money Trail". That is all the facts required. Analysts can say what they want and fundamentalists can say what they want but the money trail (chart) tells the truth about where the money is going.

Money Trail? You are beginning to sound like a low budget Western. <g>

In other words you are saying that AMD broke its recent uptrend and that has lead you to believe that the gap in the 40's will be filled. Now Manfred has provided you a link to a post by J.Petzinger in which he gives a factual TA analysis of what's happening to the AMD stock based on its current chart. His conclusions are the opposite of yours. Yet you are unable to dispute his conclusions nor provide specific evidence pulled from the chart that supports your position and negates his. Disappointing!

Fundamentals did not get the internets to the levels they reached. Money got them there and the charts tell the story very well. Technical Analysis deals with human emotions and mathmetical probabilities. The fact is that human emotion caused that gap as it causes all gaps. The mathmetical probability is that it will fill that gap.

Yes, I know all that....I told you that I have a grasp of TA. What I don't have is the ability to predict anything TA related with a 90% probability like your 90% certain to fill in the gap argument or those on this thread who predict AMD will be at $150 by Oct. 1. I had hoped there was a factual basis to your prediction rather than an intuited guess. Unfortunately you have made clear its the latter.
