Manfred, this is a very poignant statement. You are right on target here.

"From where I come my take is that it is suspicious if there is given to much emphasis on nomenclature and labeling of any visible phenomenon. Suspicious in a sense that the more labeling and nomenclature surrounds a certain phenomenon the less expert know how exists about the underlying mechanism that really matters."

I think what you are saying is that many phonemenon cannot be explained....they just occur and the more the "experts" try to explain and label them the less credibility the expert should be assigned.
