Yes I think that many phenomenon cannot be explained. However having some scientific background I assume that most phenomenon have some underlying mechanism.

For the sake of simplicity I would like to apply this as well for the case of gap filling in a given stock. If a underlying mechanism is not implied I think it does not make much sense to label various kind of gaps with different names - other then impress people without much background.

In case however the underlying mechanism is known - or at least looked after - it does help very much to distinguish them by different nomenclature. For didactic reasons as well as for a better communication. That's why I am looking for the mechanism first.
