sq39: I said majority of option buyers lose money. That means majority of option sellers make money.
90% of options never get exercised and 70 % of the option buyers lose money.
From your text it sounds like you sell options and cover them (close) for a profit. That is what most winners do.
I have been trading on bond futures and options before getting into stock options. I was taught option strategies by one of the floor traders who was involved with the starting of CBOT. I have not seen a professional trader who regularly advised buying options.
I will certainly look forward to sharing our experiences.
So please clarify, do you open your option positions by buying or selling or with spreads and straddles?
