reits foolish to expect stocks to expand p/e from 200 - 400 and then when it goes the other way we get upset
That's the whole point. p/e s of 400 are absurd. I should have sold then and when I get another chance (if) to sell a stock that has gone up drastically I will.
I have a lot of money, I suppose, although my portfolio is down 2/3. I am not willing to continue losing capital, therefore this morning I am out of almost everything.
You are right momo has not worked for me.
But I can't watch the market much, either.
Why do I think stocks will be cheaper? Simply that earnings season is almost over and that we have August and then Sept, Oct, mutual fund reallocation and tax selling (big time this year) ahead of us.
That's all.
Personally I'll take Fidelity's cash reserve 6% interest for now. I'll get back in the market if it ever feels comfortable again to me or if I believe a stock is compelling.
Best wishes to all.
I'll be reading!
And posting occasionally, since I'm wordy.
