Goutama,

<AMD never gave any indication of what the mix going to be (Durons vs calssic Athlons & Thunderbirds). No Durons SKU's by the Major oem's does indicate a problem with Duron's Infrastructure (which will not be a problem in Q4). AMD's statement about no problems with the infrastructure could be based on its ability to sell 3.6 K7s with the mix adjusted to conditions of various segments of the infrastructure, oem and supplier's needs, and market conditions. >

AMD said Durons would ship from Compaq and other OEMs in July. That didn't happen. If the management was lying then it was misleading or attempting to skirt a problem. Not a pretty scene any which way one wants to spin it.
