Okay, you're right about that. However, I think a FAQ (containing the word "expect") is one thing, an official press release another. Technically the FAQ is right, there are some smaller OEMs selling Duron systems (in the US) now. I don't think this qualifies as "lying". But I agree that AMD should have given us more details why the Durons are sold out and what this really means (e.g. that the quantities are limited to ship more high margin Thunderbirds).

Andreas, I think the problem is that there are a whole bunch of folks within and outside of AMD who want to blame VIA and think the lousy performance is because of VIA.

Yes, I think nobody disagrees here. However, I still think that it's in AMDs best interest to be polite to his partners and don't embarrass them on a conference call. AMD gave us (with some minor expectations) every guidance we needed. Things wouldn't become better if they blamed VIA officially (probably only worse).
