Mike,

The first priority on your agenda should be the issue of stock options for the posters. This has been a very sore point in negotiations between Bryan and the SI membership. The issue will not go away and it won't resolve itself. Looking forward to seeing you at Camp David for the next round of negotiations.

(tongue-in-cheek of course)

shameless grub.

No, not you, the palindrome.

That being said, I hope we can get some progress done around here. We've been driving with a yellow flag for a long time.

Hi Mike,
Welcome to SI.

Quick question, Did SI go out and recruit analyst/popular online personalities recently?

The two that come to mind are "da cheif and DrBob".

Thanks,
JXM

mikecod: Since SI has seen fit to give away so many "premium" memberships as of late to lure new members and posters to SI, it would only seem fair for SI to refund the money paid for LIFTIME MEMBERSHIPS by so many of SI's long time contributors....don't you think???

By the way...all the trouble created by the ORCL database update has resulted in little improvement for users of SI. I think it is finally back to about the level it was at before the upgrade. One of the ongoing problems that was suppose to be solved with the upgrade was the text search feature...tried to do a text search lately...days behind as was the case before the upgrade.

Regards,
LG

PS: If you are reading SI and have not yet paid for a membership...get on DrBob512's Email list...it seems to be worth a free SI "premium" membership.

mikecod: Well, you never replied to my post asking about free membership verses those that have paid for memberships. I guess that potato was to hot to handle, huh!

Let me see if I can get a response to the following...

A few months ago SI transitioned to an ORCL database. To put it lightly it was not a smooth transition. The benefits of this transition were to be a faster web site, text search problems were to become a thing of the past...just to name a couple of the expected improvements.

I find the site is as slow as ever. I find full database text searches often don't retrieve all posts containing the text searched for. Forget about doing a text search in someone's profile. Profile text searches won't pull up posts past May, about the time the ORCL database was installed.

So, when can we (you know your customers and the ones that produce the reading material that pulls in the page hits) expect this database to finally deliver?

Regards,
LG
