Hippies were spoiled bourgeois brats, and most went into professions like insurance and stock brokering in the end......... and took their views, experiences, preferences, values, politics, etc. with them. So, what's the point? This movement (hippies were the tip of the iceberg) had major repercussions to how politics is done in America. I remember stopping in a Bakersfield gas station in 1972 with my mom and fearing that five 20 year-old red-neck jerks were gonna kick my ass and shave my head. For nothing more than my "look". I didn't say anything to them, was 15 years old and not much of a threat to them. Your language and rhetoric is similar to theirs. When I was 20, I'd have come back with my friends and baseball bats and broken every bone in their smug hay-seed bodies. At my age now, it just disgusts me. Quite honestly, it really should disgust you too and you should stop using the mindless rhetoric of those jackasses. It is the same pack mentality that Hitler Youth used when breaking up Jewish stores. Might makes right. Kick some ass. Morons.
