UF, couple of pieces from the CC:

headcount 34K, up from 30K from last quarter. A lot of that from an acquisition. Adding another 3500 or 4500 this quarter.

Break out revs into 4 categories, number signifies this vs. last quarter:

Routers Switches Access Other

41%,was 41 40,was 39 13,was 13 17,was16

Doesn't add up (>100%). Pretty sure of the first 3.

Japan 2 solid back to back quarters. Best in 5 years.

GMs down a tad, 64.4% to 64.0%. Chambers said that was predicted last CC because Cisco is going after some markets with supply constrained components (components = flash?). Cisco did say very recently flash is getting better.

Early in the call, when mentioning the great revs, Chambers mentioned the extreme opportunities in voice, data and video, and I believe he said they couldn't handle it all. Anyone else?

Onto a lot of detail from Chambers.

Before this segment, Chambers said he'd report in a lot of detail, and also forward looking concerns. No concerns yet. All extremely positive, or explained, a la that little drop in GMs. Still GMs practically any company would kill for. That's the only thing negative that I've picked up.

Get that campus going down there in Coyote Valley, y'hear?

Tony

Oops, concerns. Procurement. Chambers spent the most time on this one by about 2 to 1 over any other item. Cisco carrying 5 to 10% inventory of critical components. Chambers did say lead times started getting better in July.

Competition from Nortel, Lu, Siemens, others. OK.

Something to do with stock options, didn't get.

Tremendous balance in products and geography. Chambers called this a challenge and a good news item. Didn't get explanation well. More support outside of US a more difficult challenge for customer services?

Might have missed another concern. If I did, don't think it was a biggie. Sounds like procurement is the one to micro-manage. The rest sounded like boiler plate.
