As long as we are spewing platitudes, how about this one:

Money attracts money.

By and large, I've made money by being smart and frugal, and working my ass off. In addition, the investments I make are for the long term. Sometimes my good investments get ahead of themselves and then the stock price stagnates for awhile. But the thing I focus on is the fundamental story. Has the story changed? No. Cisco's fundamentals are stronger than ever. Therefore, I'm not selling. Selling a strong company just to take profits is a daytraders game. If you are comforable with that game that's fine, but long term the odds are against you. Long term, the odds are with the long term holders.
