I'm not sure that the alcohol and other drugs are completely similar in this case. Cocaine or even marijuana have effective doses that are smaller and easier to conceal then alcohol. I can't imagine a dealer making a living by carrying around six packs to sell to kids at schools even if alcohol was illegal.
I'm not arguing against ending drug prohibition but I doubt ending it will include allowing sales to kids and if this is not allowed then the dealers that sell to them now will continue to do so. I would support ending the prohibition, because I believe in personal freedom, I just don't think it will be some easy or perfect solution.
