Im not much of a TV fan, so part of the GMST story is hard for me to relate to (kind of like not owning a cell phone and investing in QCOM, not that I know anyone like that)

I called a friend of mine who runs a regional cable provider, I asked him about the 300-500 channels that I keep seeing tossed around. He has some doubts that we will ever see that many channels.

Where do these #'s come from (300-500 channs)

I called my local cable provider and the digital cable does have a great deal of channels but half of those are music or pay-perview. Total of 130

What gives, where does all this new content come from?

Are we going to see more niche channels like the Home and Garden and Cartoon Network?

Im kinda lost "Guide" me please.

Drew

"There's no way the cable industry is going to yield total control to Henry Yuen. We'll go with no guides at all before we'll do that."
"Okay. Let's play that imaginary game of the cable folks not having any guides."
Imaginary is right. I don't really think he means "no guides", but perhaps he is instead emphasizing to the interviewer the importance the cable guys place on that piece of real estate.
But your points are well taken.
Is the stock market viewing the server-centric model question as the greatest uncertainty at this time?

Good luck,
Eric
