Cree Books Additional Contracts Valued at $21 Million
DURHAM, N.C., Aug. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Cree, Inc. (Nasdaq: CREE - news) today announced that it has received contracts from Asian customers totaling $21 million for shipments during FY 2001. Included in these contracts are purchase agreements for standard brightness, high brightness, and small chip silicon carbide light emitting diodes (LEDs).

F. Neal Hunter, Chairman and CEO, stated, ``Our products continue to penetrate high volume applications. This latest booking adds to our record backlog for this fiscal year. These contracts represent the largest orders ever received from each of these respective customers.''
