I hope Sledgehammer *****NEVER***** gets any support from Microsoft. I'm happy to hear there will be Linux support, Solaris would be an added bonus.

Why the hell would you want to depend on Win64? Is it ready for IA64, on time? stable? What's the chance it will ever be stable? Win64 is going to be so bad it will be confined to the low end, where you can just sell 32-bit systems anyway. For either IA64 or Sledgehammer to ever get out of the low end, it will take a non-Microsoft OS.
