OT: I do keep an eye on Cree. I have been an owner of CREE in the past, and will probably be again. It's the kind of high tech company you can fall in love with. They have some truly impressive technology.

But a lot of it is sizzle, not steak. They show a lot of promise, but not as much follow-through as I would like. Yes, blue LEDs are a success. But they have no lock on that market. Where are the RF transistor sales, the Moisanite sales, and the 3" wafers? Do investors realize what a disadvantage 2" wafers are when silicon is made in 12" wafers? Finally, DVD is catching fire, but uses red lasers, not blue. Blue lasers will be needed for the next generation, not this one.

The second problem is the stock price. I didn't feel that the runup from Oct. 99 was justified. Some of it may have been due to people thinking they were in the optical communications market. CREE recently broke it's 200-day MA on very heavy volume. It really needs to find a base from which it can start another up-trend.
