Yeah, but this wasn't about what you like. The kicker was

"And then we apply Occam's Razor.... "

I'm sure you're familiar with it but it says "When presented with two hypotheses that that explain the facts equally, pick the simpler one."

Now Occam's Razor is not a LAW of of logic; it has many exceptions. If it always led to the correct answer, science would be much simpler. There are many instances where the more complicated explanation is also the correct one- -and then we must pick the more complicated one.

But other things being equal, and in the absence of other facts to aid hte choice, Occam is the way to bet it.
