Joe, Re: From the Real World Tech report, it looks like the the chipset situation is going to take some time to improve.

Since there will be no DDR support for P3 until December or later I don't think the absence of DDR motherboards will have a major impact on sales. What I find very encouraging is the fact that KT133 is ramping rapidly; this is the key to sell all the Athlons/Durons AMD can make. AMD 760 will be in low volumes, perhaps some 100,000 units, by year's end and can (hopefully) match with Mustang P4s performance.

BTW, I think there's a very good probability that VIA screws up again and delays its DDR motherboards even further. And looking at their crappy performance on PC133 chipsets I don't have much faith in their performance numbers. Maybe this bad news it actually good news because this also means that P3 DDR will be delayed again. And I would fell much more comfortable if AMD delivered the majority of DDR motherboards with its Irongate 760 chipset. Despite all efforts from AMD VIA is still a very unreliable partner with its own agenda.

Joe,

RE:"very few motherboard companies want to support Ali"

Why do you say this?
ASUS and Microstar have and may again. Not to mention Acer itself.
