Rumor has it that not only is the Big Whopper economic but there will be news reasonably soon that will ensure it becomes a productive mine. We'll see what happens.

Elizabeth; yes, there does appear to be some confusion. The Big Whopper's claim to fame is petalite which is Lithium. You are right that the tantalum grade is only 70 grams in the proposed Big whopper pit. There are some pegmatite dyke swarms adjacent to and along strike of the proposed pit where the grades are 15 to 20 times higher (.11% and .16%) which would work out to 2.2 to 3.2 pounds per ton which would appear to be economic if these grades are consistent. i do not know how much drilling was done on these tantalum rich zones, but one would think that with 57 holes drilled, some would be in the tantalum zones.

Checking out the other Avalon properties, the Separation Rapids (Big Whopper) appears to me to be the best tantalum prospect.
