Don, i meant relative to other countries...just as their cost of living is higher (which makes the Yen look overvalued in terms of purchasing power parity), their salaries are also higher. which sort of takes the edge off the purchasing power parity argument, what the Economist calls the 'Big Mac index', the simplest form to test it.

you can live and eat real cheap in Zimbabwe for instance...only not if you're a Zimbabwean.
