BioFiltration Systems Inc. to Discuss Pilot Project for SWOMI Wireless Internet System with the California State University -- Humboldt Campus

SARASOTA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 7, 2000--BioFiltration Systems, Inc. (OTCBB:BIFS) announced today that its Technology group Beachaccess.net, a wholly owned subsidiary of BioFiltration Systems, has agreed to enter into preliminary discussions with representatives of the California State University-Humboldt campus regarding the SWOMI high speed wireless internet service. The initiative was proposed as part of Beachaccess Corporation's plan to expand the marketing of the SWOMI system to a variety of clientele and designed to explore the potential that this technology may hold in providing internet connectivity to the faculty, staff, and students of this university. Meetings between Beachaccess and CalState Humboldt representatives are scheduled to take place on August 21, 2000.

Mr. Al Keyser, CEO of Biofiltration commented, "Given the recent successes of the SWOMI high speed wireless technology within the resort and hotel industry, marketing of the product to the educational community seemed a logical next step. I am optimistic that the SWOMI system can be used as an alternative mechanism for colleges and universities to provide internet access to their students and administration and can also provide freedom of movement to those customers who use SWOMI while they move about the campus."

Mr. Jay Knabb, CEO of Beachaccess, commented, "The California State University is cited as the largest university system in the United States and presently maintains a student population of approximately 350,000 students annually. The Humboldt campus of this university system is located in the extreme northern part of the state and would serve as an excellent location for a pilot program of the SWOMI technology. I am looking forward to discussing the benefits that SWOMI wireless computing can have for this and other campuses in the CalState system as we actively explore this element of our revised marketing plan."
