JDN,

The argument from the brokerage houses is that this will actually decrease the amount of available information. They say the companies will be afraid to talk to analysts, and if they can only release information by press release, less interim information will be available between earnings reports. I guess there is some truth to that.

I could see more surprises, both up and down, as this is implemented.
