When we enter a dialogue convinced that we are right, that we have the secret, that our way is necessarily better than other ways, the result is not dialogue at all. It is preaching, and many people don't like it.>> I completely understand. When we spend a lot of time, pain and energy crafting, molding, sculpting, sanding, bending and changing our beliefs and perceptions in order to feel "comfortable" in our world, someone or something that comes along with passion, belief and energy oftentimes is either a threat or a complete turn-off. Why? The only logical/rational answer is that there must be a FIXED/FINITE amount of energy in the universe. I just don't ascribe to this belief. And the fact that I don't doesn't have to be interpreted as being "better than" others. Even with my energy and passion I don't think I'm "better" than anybody else. I just have a passionate desire to keep trusting, caring, sharing, risking and serving. And forget about judging or grading "how much" this "means" to others. If I valued myself, my passions and energies "relative to" others or something "outside" of myself then I would be negating myself, cutting the source of this energy off right at the root. I'd be stuck in the "finite" view. And if I judged myself as good, better, best, great, master, etc. based on some crazy system relative to something "I" or others dreamed up, that'd be like locking or conditionalizeing my energy/passsion away. But again, I'd be a slave to this finite rational, logic. >>When we approach others with the realization that our opinions are simply our opinions, that they are not inherently better than anyone else's, and that if we wish others to accept them we must explain them convincingly, discourse is possible.>> Everything we say comes from internal energy. It's up to the listener whether he/she judges and interprets this as an opinion or whether he/she "feels" and accepts this as energy. Any shared discourse represents an exchange of energy. If you judge/interpret the energy I share negatively this "cutting off" process can only be supported by withdrawing trust in a way which "gives up" your energy. And anytime we give up our energy by pulling back, cutting off or judging we either feel irritated, upset, angry or fearful. This "cutting off" is just a reaction to the finite view. When the world takes on limits and boundaries there's a requirement that all energy has to be boxed, labeled, defined, preserved and reserved before it's finally tossed in the spaggetti bowl of "opinions". Energy that's freely, unconditionally shared becomes highly suspect. Why? For the limited mindset can only understand reasons based on calculated open or hidden agendas. Nothing can be unconditional for everything has fit inside quid pro quo - even if I risk to "love" I have to be sure "get" something in return or else......etc. Bottom line, a conditionalized, limited view of an unlimited universe wars against our unlimited, timeless spiritual inner nature. Ok, Ok this exchange may sound like I'm preaching, but if I was irritated or angry with you I'd be reflecting so much in what I write. I happen to think there is something I can learn from you and anyone else for that matter. Learning and growing is a continous process. We are all kids at heart anyway and we all must risk, share and serve to grow. For there's that other "I" kid inside us that learned the ropes of the selfish side of our nature. And I've learned how to laugh at that selfish side of myself. I just believe that everything boils down to one thing: ENERGY. We all want more of it, but too many people are scared to death of it. To believe we are all limitless, powerful, incredible, spiritual beings with the potential for sharing an unlimited source of energy is in direct opposition of all of what makes up our egos. Destroy the EGO!!?? That's heresy!! Impossible!! The universe is unlimited?? NO WAY!! Nope. I'm sorry. Just look at the children. They are living, walking proof of this. They are the lights of this world. They shall lead. Before you judge me, try to imagine me as a child. Try judging a child's natural energy. You have this inside you. Everyone has it inside of themselves. And we each need more love and light from each other to bring it out. Peace. .
