Dear Mindmeld: Dont get me started on Options. haha. I agree they are, if properly administered, a wonderful means of making each employee feel as though their contribution to the business relates to their personal economic well being. I must go on however and say IMHO Options have been VERY MUCH abused in the Tech sector (not pointing the finger merely at CSCO but the whole sector). When I study proxies and vote on option programs I often come away disgusted at the INCREDIBLE options made available to high ranking officers and often directors and the MEAGER options given to the rank and file. I PERSONALLY see no reason to allow options alone to make many upper echelon officers millionairs HUNDREDS of times over with little risk of their own capital in the process. JDN
