hi reid,

thanks for the link to the security flaw article. i'm going to peruse the netscape newsgroups and see what's up as far as a patch. based on the numbers (1000 as of 8/7) and with relatively obscure news coverage since, i'm thinking it's not the most disastrous problem to come down the pike to date. i will post back here any news i discover on net newsgroups. in the interim, the article suggests, simply turning off java will protect users. i guess that will make the web experience unbearable <g3>

iyo, would a security flaw such as this one involving java code be either detected or stopped by personal firewalls such as norton personal firewall, by intrusion detection systems such as blackice defender or zonealarm, and/or by antivirus software such as either mcafee or norton antivirus?
