i think the price we pay for tv guides is going to include the loss of privacy. the thing that is going to make it attractive to the networks is going to be the feature that allows advertisers to target interested viewers. magazines have been doing it for years. fishing mags target fisherman. have not seen a tampax ad in my Florida Fisherman magazine yet. in a way it will be good for us and the advertisers. i won't want to zap the ads if i am interested in what they are selling.( especially Fredricks of Hollywood) rocky ps. i have a hard time advertising my fishing charter business. NOBODY believes fisherman!

If you want a Tivo
I think the only reason I don't already own a Tivo system is that I don't have a phone line near my TV. (The phone is near the couch where I sit on the other side of the room). I have high speed internet access on that TV cable, and it bothers me that Tivo can't just work across that connection.
