How old were you when you fell on your head? INTC's growth money isn't coming from it FAB's. It's it's investments.

Take a closer look at INTC numbers.

Re: Seems to me Intel is making nothing but money for us shareholders with all their fabs. They are also on their way to becoming the largest company in the world, by market cap.

Gordon,

That was one of the most clueless posts I have ever read on SI, hell even Yahoo. Bookmarked for later reference of course. Do you know how to read a financial statement? The only way all that money is coming from the "fabs" is if Intel Capitol Group is located in a fab.

From your profile:

"Intel LEAPS are the next best thing to having the mint in your basement"

"Being audacious and betting big on Intel options"

Intel's glory days as a STOCK are over. This has nothing to do with AMD or any other company, all it has to do with is Intel's HUGE market cap. Same with Cisco, Microsoft, Oracle, Dell, etc. In about 10 years all you guys will be part of a self help group that gets together once a week and tries to figure out why your "market darling" stocks quit going up. The best is done for these "big cap techs", but I believe it will take years for this reality to set in and fortunes will be lost.

As Lucretius says, "if you are long this market, you're in need of professional help...."

IMO Intel will probably continue to kick AMD's backside for as long as amd is still in business.

There in a nutshell is the root cause of all Intel's current problems. They don't have the motivation that AMD does :^)

re: "IMO Intel will probably continue to kick AMD's backside for as long as AMD is still in business."

The reason why inteL continues to flail away at AMD's "backside", as you call it, is that it (AMD's backside) continues to be the only part of AMD that is still visible to inteL. A visibility that is becoming increasingly less apparent as AMD pulls decisively ahead of inteL.

The humility ("IMHO") of your opinion is recognized and well acknowledged as completely justified.

STAY TUNED!!!!!!!

<< The stock has split 13 times, is up over 300,000% since it's IPO, and the future looks even better. >>

That's one of the things that amuses me about investors in Intel/Cisco/Microsoft etc etc, these companys are all up 1000s of times initial values and everyone says the future is even better, well the market cap is around 400B, so you think you're going to go up by another factor of 3000, 1,200 trillion dollars. Intel/Cicso/Midrosoft may be great investments going forward, but expecting a repeat of the past 10 years is ridiculous.
