West, did you notice that CPQ was now pushing Linux as well given Dell's success in this area? This is one area which analysts fail to address - the strong and up and coming success of the Linux platform and the transfer of business assets to this platform.

Afternoon Westmoreland,

Re: This is silly.and overdone So I am hanging in there

I'm hanging in there too. Maybe IF Dell goes back up to 50, I'll grow some cojones and sell some of my shares, but for now I don't agree this is silly. This is DELL not executing. This is not the shorts holding back the stock, this is DELL missing thier lowered projection. This is DELL quickly going from a 45%+ company to a hopeful 30% company. This is lots of long term shareholders fed up and profit taking. This is one point and change away from a 52 week low, and any hint of 51 so DELL can be flat for year 2000 a long long way off. MSD can no longer use the excuse of past stock growth to explain away the stocks recent performance because 19 months of nil returns for DELL longs is not short term anymore. I'd love for him to make a statement, and maybe to buy a few million shares as a show of solidarity and confidence in his company.

I'd love it also to stop raining in NY,
Kaka
