mepci, i don't know if your question is facetious or real; but it has to do with Open Source platform - plug and play in any environment regardless of software language. translation is easier utilizing unix/java/C. Microsoft's method, relative to Open Source could be termed as "Closed Source". SUNW was among the first to recognize the benefits of this move.

Dell believes they can translate current Linux share into a major market lead. There is very little by way of staffing, technology, or support to realistically to say they can't; other than poopooers.

Look what Open Source has done for SUNW!

OpenSource, by the way, changes everything; nearly all the variables - software, standards platform, system guts, centralization of information.

It's apparently the new wave. MD stated Dell is able to vigourously attack this market.
