Yes, I recall that the parties had a disagreement over how to spend the money.

"The marriage penalty repeal is the most recent legislation Clinton vetoed."

That is a rather minor point in a monstrosity of a tax code. Someone who returns a nickle that I've lost to me while plundering my bank account for thousands upon thousands doesn't strike me as being in my best interests though.

The Republicans have had legislation vetoed. Remember the Gov't shutdown in 95? The public, for the most part too ignorant
to understand basic civics, punished the GOP for the incident


and the GOP lost much of its nerve, and perhaps a lot of its desire to hold back government's growth after that.
