Goldman ups Analog Devices

NEW YORK, Aug 16 (Reuters) - UBS Warburg and Goldman Sachs both increased their earnings estimates for computer chipmaker Analogue Devices Inc. (NYSE:ADI - news) on Wednesday, a day after the company said it expects to ship its new energy-saving ``Othello'' chip to major customers next year.

-- Goldman Sachs said analyst Joe Moore raised 2000 EPS estimate to $1.49 from $1.35 and 2001 EPS estimate to $2.40 from $1.75.

-- UBS Warburg said it raised EPS estimates to $0.50 from $0.40 for Q4 2000, to $2.40 from $1.90 for FY01.

-- UPS also raised share price target to $120 from $100, based on a 48 multiple of calendar 2001 EPS estimate. UBS maintains buy rating.

-- ADI shares opened up 13-6/16 at 90-3/16 on Wednesday,
