In the showcase area, SF Bay Area, Att has the telephony hardware mostly in place. The only question is why they haven't started service. Such service would give @home a shot in the arm. Remember how you suggested the synergistic value of the unified bill?

Dial (800) 288 4622
I talked to operator 20468
It took forever to find these guys.
Most operators did not even know they existed.
Anyhow, it is up and running in some areas.

Summary of my call:

"We at ATT offer digital phone service over the cable. Here is a package for you:
Total cost is $34.95/month. Features include:

4 phone lines

Free installation

Free 1st month service

3 features included: caller id, call waiting, 3 way calling

unlimited free local calls in 16 mile radius of you home (as opposed to 12 mile radius of Pac Bell).

5 cents/minute intrastate calls

7 cents/minute state-to-state calls"

I asked where this is available. He said Berkeley, Fremont, tri-valley area (Livermore, and up 680).

I asked about San Francisco. He said real soon.

I asked for a url and he said no web site is available for this.

I was going to ask why this was a secret but did not want to be rude.
