Thank you for the clarifications.

"I would say you are misinterpreting the issues I have raised because..." If so it was unintentional.

"1.) I do not support the gay lifestyle, but I do support their incontrovertible right to live their lives the way they choose as long as it does not violate or interfere with the inalienable rights or property rights held by other individuals." I do not see where they are denied any of this, so its a lot of fooforahh over nothing.

" 2.) Overall, gays in society have been oppressed because of their sexual orientation and continue to be oppressed. Society treats gays with a dual-standard. There are indeed certain rights and privileges withheld from gays and some of those rights and privileges are incorporated in matrimony." I have not seen a convincing arguement that Gays are locked out of any of the rights and privileges afforded a married heterosexual couple. Gays do not meet the descriptors of a married heterosexual couple. Although some married couples certainly live close to the lifestyle of a gay couple. Having children, planning a life of interdependencies and supports is the societal presumptions behind marriage. Some gay couples do live close to this but it is not what is usually thought of as the gay lifestyle.

I still do not see that what is afforded to gays is outside the norm of what is afforded to everyone else. They are definitely not oppressed as can be seen by their success which is above the mean in all sectors of society. There are no rights associated with marriage that are denied gays. Most thoughtful people have considered this issue and put it aside as nonsense. Step off the bandwagon long enough and you will see what the rest of us do. You are slipping behind the times as this was a 70s issue that lacked merit.

"3.) I have never advocated, nor do I advocate now, "government assistance" for any individual or group. Quite the contrary, I am opposed to all such assistance except where the government has the duty to uphold, protect and maintain the civil rights, inalienable rights and property rights of any American citizen no matter their race, sex, color, creed or sexual orientation." Me too. however I see the difference between rights and entitlements. You apparently don't.
