I disagree. Companies as large and solid as Sun with such high and consistent growth rates and excellent prospects are exceedingly rare and deserve a premium. I think in a couple of years we'll be looking back and calling today's prices cheap.

But, of course, that's JMHO.

Here's one reason it keeps going up. SUNW's taking market share away from competitors. From cnet.com

HP also missed its overall revenue projections and revenue expectations for the Unix market,
said Kurt King, an analyst with Banc of America Securities. At its analysts meeting on May
31, HP told analysts revenue would grow 15 percent, while Unix revenue would grow 26
percent. Instead, revenue grew 14.52 percent, while Unix sales only grew about half that.

"They were a little bit light on revenue and way light on Unix revenue," he said. "There were a
lot of good things in the quarter, (but) that is a revenue miss."

Late Thursday evening, Sun Microsystems (SUNW) announced that the
Company’s Board of Directors has approved a 2:1 stock split,
pending shareholder approval. The payable date has been
tentatively set for December 5th, 2000.
