Transmeta files for IPO:

zdii.com

Could make for interesting action in AMD and INTC. My opinion on this is that the transmeta products will not threaten either Intel or AMD's products in the PC area. Intel chips are faster and more power efficient. All the product announcements I have seen are from "customers" that have an investment in Transmeta. Perhapos these customers are planning on making a nice investment gain from the IPO. Perhaps they want there to be a perception of another player in the processor field, in order to get more negotiating power with Intel and AMD.

I am not familiar with the Transmeta products aimed at the internet device market, so haven't got a clear picture on Transmeta's viability as a going concern. I expect they will go out of business eventually, after losing a lot of other people's money.

I should say that the real nature of the relationships between transmeta and their customers and investors could be a lot different to my assumptions so take the above as an opinion only.

Rmbs might release news at noon

At noon? If I recollect rightly, the Toshiba, Hitachi and OKI deals were all announced before trading began the next day.

Having said that, rmbs seems pretty strong in pre-market: 83.4 as I write this. Wonder what's up?

Good luck today
Anand

Posted this in the rmbs thread as well (wish they had a cross-post feature)

I sold my trading shares of rmbs today morning at 83.3 - I didnt pick the high, but atleast I came out with a 2.3 point gain. Thanks, people, for sharing your wisdom.

mishedlo, I didnt invest too much time in understanding your put maneuvers - hope they work out.

Im thinking of getting back aboard EOD - short of Intel renouncing support this weekend, there doest seem much potential downside for the open Monday morning.
