It is very hard to decide what is beneficial to one's world view and what is not.

I've got some fairly specific ideas about what I think would be good- but if my ideas turned out NOT to be good in practice I would abandon them.

And please, feel free to join my new Libertarian Socialist party. Libertarian- for social behavior- I HATE governments that try to tell self sufficient productive people how to act in terms of their personal lives- no CODES of morality. You can take drugs, and do whatever you want to sexually. But Socialist, because it is my opinion that people who are NOT self sufficient need to be taken care of in a paternal way. So it's a two track system- take care of yourself=almost absolute freedom and responsibility (but no hurting others now!) on the other hand, failure to care for yourself=paternal protection unitl you can learn how to do so.

It's not like it's the cost of materials, economies of scale or engineering that really make Nikes distinctive is it? For the most part it is marketing. I admit I buy the cheap shoes. The Nikes aren't made here by people with livable wages. So buying expensive shoes vs. cheap one doesn't make it better for the Chinese.
