Good points too, James. My main problem is that the rallies in all the indexes this month have come on below average volume. What the market doesn't get right the first time, it tends to go back and redo, so I'd like to see a return to the recent lows and a strong rebound before pronouncing this market healthy. So far, the Naz's action around the 200 DMA hasn't been coinvincing, either.

NAZ volume is running 100 million higher than yesterday. Not a good sign for an indecisive day around the 200 DMA. Could still rally, but John T pointed out yesterday that the last two options expiration Fridays have been down.

James,

How do you know that the volume will be back after the FOMC meeting? Is it a gut feeling or something technical.

This rally has been a fairly lower volume, inflows have dropped. What do you have to support the greater volume which implies more inflow.

I have nothing that says that technically. Inflows are declining, but that could change but for now its not growing.
