Hi mepci,

Re: Even then it may take couple more months to get us back to the 50's

It may take a whole lot more time than that. The past month DELL is down over 27%, while rebounding this week a measly 2%. All this while Merril is predicting great chip returns, SUNW hitting a new all time high and even CPQ reaching a 52 week high. I don't know what magic is necessary to move a 7.7 billion dollar company with projected 30 % growth which now has a very reasonable P/E.

mepci and all, OT, check out ATML, this company is such a bargain. I am now the proud owner of 3,000 shares thanks to those 37.5 putskies I sold. I wish my 35's expired in the money, that ML guy couldn't wait until monday? This stock is a bargain, trading at a 50% discount to next year's earnings and cash eps of almost 2x eps. It is a small company with plenty of room to grow. I am looking for a triple in 6-12 months. BTW, the stock splits later this month and the company is buying back shares.

:o)

<<I would not count on buying calls for a couple of months.>>
Buying Dell calls a loser for me last 17 months so I haven't bgt many. Not worth messing with, unless one has a more exotic system for using them.(like yours)
Next best chance is Feb 2001, which is Feb 17 so may be too close to earnings to profit by a good report. But I have some 45's although its not for serious money. They only cost about 3.50 and I would like just one time to steal some $$$ from the %&^&$ bears.
I do much better with other tech stocks.
Overall, the farther out (in later months) that I buy calls, the better chance they have. So I end up trading a lot of Leaps -on TXN, on NT, on SUNW etc.
Now you know this is not easy, Dell can blow sky high in Nov and Dec,which are typically good months, so this is just one man, one voice, one vote, and could be wrong. Why are we doing this?. I may be down, but could still be sitting on an island ,a small one now instead of a big one. Or learning to play golf.
I looked a a 1991 used MBZ diesel Sunday, was ready to pay cash but the owner did not have the title. Amazing, the credit union in Georgia had the title. How can you sell a car without a title.? Big deal. Decided I did not need
the car- a new engine would cost $12k. Be happy with the 3 I have, a blue '79, a grey '81, and white '82. $1500 would be enough to re-build any of the engines in those. They sometimes need it after about 350,000 miles.
Jan has hired her own personal trainer. But its lady, not one of those young 'hunks'. We are up $21K for the week. So why do I have to fix old cars.? Why?
