If Transmeta can work out their performance issues, their technology will be unbeatable from a power consumption point of view. It is an ideal technology for x86 applications which require long battery life.

If AMD and Transmeta joined forces on laptop development, they might be able to dominate the spectrum of laptop products, from low power ranging up to high performance.
