You forgot the most important part of the news clip:

which in turn is using a Texas Instruments PHY and a Virata network processor in every modem.

My big concern is that I don't see any sells for Virata's Boron and Beryllium chips which are their physical layer DSL chips. Most of the news releases I see are for their Helium networking chip. The blurb up above reiterates my concern. Texas Instruments is getting the physical layer where Virata is getting the networking area. Still good for Virata, but I want to see their Boron and Beryllium chips make a dent in the market.
