Its very easy. There is no missing dollar. Because they got a "refund" of a dollar a piece and the boy kept the two dollar tip then the grand total is exactly $29.00. I actually knew this teaser a few months ago and posted it on another thread. But I did get the answer before my husband who is the better mathematician.
