The funny thing about Dataplay is that they never want tot talk about th DRIVE necessary to run the Dataplay disk.

The ugly truth is that any disk drive for portable devices adds bulk, adds to the $$$ cost of the device because the high $$$ cost of the drive must be absorbed by the manufacturer and included in the retail price, pricing the device out of the price point where its competitors are.

Just look to Iomega and their Clik disaster to see what I mean. They can't give those Clik drives away.

You mentioned in a post a while back that Dataplay's optical drive was "read-only". Where did you find that?

BTW, I note with amusement that they now seem to be proposing dataplay discs in cellular phones as well. Better strap a car battery to your hip!
