Actually, for those who care about nutrition, it is an indication that he either doesn't care about his kids nutrition or that he has no clue. I noticed that his kids, other than the oldest one are fat, which gives you some indication of the application of his technical savvy in practice. Josef, Have we uncovered a particular bias? I didn't know that if a child is overweight, its an indication that his parents practice poor nutrition. You might notice that both parents tend to have weight problems. Might there be a genetic predisposition? And I find it extremely interesting that whenever technical expertise is needed, the first request usually is made to Scumbria. However, whenever Scumbria makes a statement that is left of the Ayatollah, even when it is an observation like his one about Gore being technically astute, suddenly he's not to be believed; he goes from being a technical authority to one who's reasoning is suspect. What's funny for me is that I have a hard time following him when he's talking chip architecture or pipelines or L1 caches but he makes perfectly good sense (at least to me) when he gets into these other issues. Which leads me to my next comment. Environmental fanaticism, as you call it, may be exactly what this world/civilization needs right now to insure its future. Logical, rational studies as you have suggested in another post may not be the way to determine the correct direction to take re the environment. There are some things that are instinctive or intuitive or both......and I have a feeling that these ways of "thinking" may be more appropriate. And who knows, in addition to Gore's predispostion to being overweight, he may have a genetic predisposation to being an environmental fanatic. It might be nature's way of helping to shape the outcome. <g> ted
