msft was an example and the point was not that it is overvalued but that by more traditional definition of value msft is worthless. The value of the company is defined as risk adjusted present value of future cash flows from the company. MSFT does not pay any dividends and therefore by that definition is worthless. The concept is over-simplified there is so no need to argue against its 100% validity.

Now there are a number of things that I like about conseco but I would not argue that it is a risky proposition. May pay off really well or government may take over or may end in a restructuring with little or no value at all.

It is good only if your personal risk profile allows it. I do understand shorting that stock though - limited pay-off with potentially huge risks - but, hey, maybe you know something that I do not.

Usually, I do not discuss my personal investment but went as a complete bull shorting $5, $7.5, $10 puts which all expired and even $10 gave me a nice profit. I also went long on covered position and calls are soon to expire.
