I think Gore and W have about equal credibility on campaign finance. However, the odds of a Democratic administration and/or congress doing something about the whole mess is by all evidence considerably better than a Republican administration and/or congress. You might want to recall co-sponsors Feingold and McCain, opposite parties but they had the common experience of getting unlimited money dumped against them by Republicans fighting campaign finance reform.

Oh, I forgot. W is the "reformer with results". I guess maybe Drudge believes that one.
