Combjelly, you worded your statement to make it sound like the "economics of self-destruction." I agree that if you're producing most of your parts at high speed, it makes sense to shift market demand toward those high speeds. The alternative would be to charge an arm-and-a-leg, but with AMD's continued focus on the bargain-priced retail segment, that isn't possible.

But you made it sound like AMD's only reason to drop prices is to create pain for Intel. As I said time and time again, being in business solely to hurt the other guy isn't a sound strategy.
